H&M cocktail dress / ASOS clutch / Mango heels / Satin gloves / My mother's set of jeweleries from her treasure box
Inspired solely ( and obviously ) from the ever-so-classy Audrey Hepburn, here's my outfit for my part-time job's Dinner & Dance event, themed 'Black Tie'. Probably one of the most eventful and memorable night for me because I won the best dressed title out of the thousands of people who attended, SCORE! On top of that, I walked away with shopping vouchers too. Plus points, the host hit bull's eye when he announced that I indeed have the Audrey Hepburn outfit.
Here's the best part, the make-up and hair was done by my talented sister and the dress, you won't believe it - I snagged it from a flea market for only 5 bucks! *Inserts a thousand exclamation marks if you would* Undoubtedly the best buy of all time, since it was also in my size and in extremely tip-top condition. I gathered the front part of the dress to one side and pinned it with a pretty brooch since it was a tad too long for me and voila, it looked more sophisticated and detailed. The outfit would have been more complete if I have the small crown resting on my head and also the black stick Ms. Hepburn's always carrying though. I can't find any substitutes for those props. She's the epitome of perfection.
Thanks to all my lovely colleagues for cheering and screaming for me. You see, the thing about dressing up is that it's not all really about the fancy and posh things you get, but how well you transform some thing to make it look more than what it's worth. Well of course, if you can afford a whole Chanel outfit, get 'em Chanel.
